 
At the beginning of the year 2000 a group of professionals
from different disciplines with experience in different fields initiated a process of reflection on the construction of a different workspace, which could allow them their professional development keeping in mind a strong social commitment. They analyzed different schemes of nonprofit organizations, like Associations or Foundations, but they thought it was important to have a transparent management in their professional exercise where business management is part of the rendering of services. The schemes of private organizations were analyzed, like anonymous societies, but they thought that profit should not be the principal target of a company like the one they were thinking about.
Finally they decided to build a cooperative of automanagement. A cooperative allows a corporative approach as well as a social one, it possesses a philosophical frame based on values which allow the integral
development of the person.
Innovative aspects from Coope Sol i Dar R. L.
Committee of Education
Although most of the cooperatives have by law, a Committee of Education, in Coope Sol i Dar R. L. it has turned
in an important dynamic engine that gives fortitude to the institution.The Committee of Education and Social Well-being is one of the most important organs inside a cooperative because they promote the formation
of the associates and the balance between economic and the social matters.
The committee is constituted by three associates designated by a period of two years. It has a plan of work, where the principal activities that it will realize are identified.
The activities have two intentions:
" Promoting the formation of the associates and collaborators from one
integral perspective: intellectual, spiritual and physical.
" Project towards the community from where the cooperative is, to integrate schools, neighbors and to support initiatives that contribute to the well-being and to a more sustainable management.
The above mentioned committee has realized several activities, as the production of the monthly bulletin " Our Voice ", a space where associates can express their opinions and reflections. Also, it is in charge of social benefit activities, to obtain major opening of knowledge
and personal growth.In general, the committee has assigned the task of promoting and spreading the cooperative education between the partners, and their families, as well as programs of public good for membership and relatives.
Between the formal responsibilities that it has at his charge, we might mention the following ones:
" To look over the suitable execution of the plan and annual budget.
" To program activities that allow the associates to know and
live through the meaning and value of the cooperative beginning.
" To present an annual report of the activities realized to the
Ordinary Assembly.
Social Fund
The idea of a social fund is based in the principle of Coope Sol i Dar R. L.,
included in the ideology that indicates the importance of " remunerating the society, especially to
the least favored sectors, the opportunities of education and development that has given to us ".
The social fund is shaped by the contributions of the associates and is destined to projects
of public good in communities chosen for such an end quite agreed by the associates of
Coope Sol i Dar R. L.
The social fund is content with the contributions of 5 % of the fees perceived by every associate,
product of professional services offered in projects hired to Coope Sol i Dar R. L.
Also, voluntary contributions are received.
It is requested every professional not associated with the Cooperative that is hired by this one, his
contribution to the social fund of the cooperative, for the equivalent of 5% on
the perceived fees of projects in which it takes part.
It is not a title that is added to the projects, it is a voluntary contribution that stems
of the total of fees of associates and collaborators.
" The social fund is one of the best things that has the cooperative, since it is one
concrete mechanism to put into practice the solidarity ".
Testimony of a partner.
The strategy of the social fund must become stronger, meanwhile the communities that
receive the contribution, have the united commitment to support another community or group
in some concrete situation that demands the support as well as the technical and human resources,
as part of the chain of solidarity.
The social fund is a personal exercise and a way of putting into practice the beginning
of solidarity.
