Felipe Matos González

He is a biologist adjusted as the Central University of Venezuela (1959), with a Mastery of the Program of Resources for the Development of the School for Graduates of the IICA, Turrialba, Costa Rica (1967). Candidate for the Ph. D. in Geography of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), 1969. Long trajectory, from 1949, in the Society of Natural Sciences Go out for him, Caracas, where it went so far as to occupy all his managing charges and person in charge for his publications. In 1952 Sal de Ciencias Naturales was constituted as one of the founders of the Foundation him, where also it redeemed several managing charges of 1959-65 and of 1974-76. Member of the National Committee of MAB and International Consultant of the UNESCO; also it realized consultancies for the Club International Saw and the BID. Member of the Technical Commission and of the Group of Ecology of the CONICIT (1973-1976), having been one of the principal organizers of the National Congress of Science and Technology celebrated in Caracas in 1975. It occupied the charge of Programme Officer for the Latin America in the UICN (Switzerland) between 1976-1980. It happened then to occupy diverse charges in the IICA (Costa Rica) between 1986-1987, year in which he happened to be one of the founders of the Department of Natural resources of the University for the Peace up to his exit in December, 2001. In November, 2002 it was accepted as associate of Coope Sol i Dar. He is an author or coauthor of botanical articles published between 1953-68, as well as of diverse articles, reports, papers or chapters of books on environmental topics
